Raul Gonzalez to coach Paris Saint-Germain Handball through to 2023

Paris Saint-Germain Handball is pleased to announce the extension of Raul Gonzalez's contract for two more seasons. The coach is now bound to the Club until June 2023.

Raul Gonzalez joined Paris in July 2018 after four years at the helm of Vardar Skopje.

The Spaniard, who is currently in his third season with Les Rouge et Bleu, has already added four pieces of silverware to the Club's trophy cabinet, having won the 2019 and 2020 Lidl StarLigue titles, the 2019 Coupe de la Ligue and the 2019 Trophée des Champions.

His assistant coach and compatriot, Jesus Gonzalez, has also been extended in his position for a further two years.

"It is a great source of pride and a true honour to continue my adventure with Paris Saint-Germain Handball," said Raul Gonzalez after signing the contract. "In just under three years, I have become deeply attached to the Club and to what it represents. I would like to extend this collaboration. I am convinced that we have the weapons to achieve great things. In Paris, everything is in place to achieve this. Together with the players and the other members of the staff, we will approach the upcoming challenges with determination and high standards in order to win as many titles as possible."

"The extension of Raul Gonzalez's contract was a priority," said Paris Saint-Germain General ManagerJean-Claude Blanc after pen was put to paper. "With his assistant coach Jesus Gonzalez, he forms a benchmark duo that allows our team to make progress each and every season. Under his guidance, the Club has consolidated its presence among the world's elite in the sport and set a host of new records. Naturally, we will continue to hold, along with them, great ambitions for the season to come, be it in domestic competitions or on the European stage."
