Keylor Navas joins Nottingham Forest on loan
Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas has joined Nottingham Forest FC on loan until the end of the 2022–2023 season, without an option to buy.
Navas was born in San Isidro de El General, Costa Rica, and came through the youth ranks at Deportivo Saprissa, plying his trade there until 2010 and winning six Costa Rican league titles in the process, as well as the 2005 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup, before moving to Spain, with successive spells at Albacete (36 appearances from 2010 to 2011) and at Levante (70 appearances from 2011 to 2014).
Having been named La Liga’s goalkeeper of the season at the end of the 2013–2014 campaign, Navas then joined Real Madrid. In five seasons with Los Blancos, he made 162 appearances and built up an exceptional honours list, winning three UEFA Champions Leagues (2016, 2017 and 2018), four FIFA Club World Cups (2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018), two UEFA Super Cups (2014 and 2017), one La Liga title (2017) and one Supercopa de España (2017).
The Costa Rica international (110 caps) joined Paris Saint-Germain in September 2019. Over the course of his four seasons with the capital club, Navas has made 108 appearances – including 50 clean sheets – and has added two Ligue 1 titles (2020 and 2022), two Coupes de France (2020 and 2021), one Coupe de la Ligue (2020) and two Trophées des Champions (2020 and 2022) to his trophy cabinet. The custodian was also a UEFA Champions League finalist with Les Rouge et Bleu in 2020.
Paris Saint-Germain would like to wish Keylor the best of luck for the rest of his season with Nottingham Forest.
