Julian Draxler joins Al-Ahli SC

Germany international Julian Draxler has joined Qatari side Al-Ahli SC on a permanent transfer.

Draxler came through the youth ranks and made his professional debut at Schalke 04 before joining VfL Wolfsburg. In January 2017, the midfielder signed for Paris Saint-Germain, where he would rack up 26 goals and 41 assists in 198 appearances before moving to SL Benfica on loan for the 2023–2024 season.

The Gladbeck native won 12 trophies with Les Rouge et Bleu: four Ligue 1 titles (in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022), four Coupes de France (in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021), three Coupes de la Ligue (in 2017, 2018 and 2020) and one Trophée des Champions (in 2020).

Draxler, who won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil with Germany, also boasts a total of 58 caps and seven goals for Die Mannschaft.

The club would like to wish Julian all the best for the rest of his career.
