Abdou Diallo signs for Al-Arabi SC

The Franco-Senegalese defender is joining Qatar's Al-Arabi Sports Club on a permanent transfer.

Abdou Diallo made his professional debut for AS Monaco on 14 December 2014 against Olympique de Marseille. After a loan spell at Zulte Waregem in 2015-2016, the Tours native returned to the Principality and was crowned French champion in 2017.

The versatile defender then moved to the Bundesliga, first with FSV Mainz in 2017-2018 and then with Borussia Dortmund the following season. Abdou Diallo finished runner-up in the German championship with the Yellow and Black before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

Abdou Diallo is capable of playing in the centre of defense and on the left, and played his first game for the Rouge et Bleu on 11 August 2019 against Nîmes Olympique (3-0) at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 1 of Ligue 1. The Senegalese international made a total of 75 appearances and won 7 trophies with the club from the capital: 2 French Championships (2020 and 2022), 2 Coupes de France (2020 and 2021), 1 Coupe de la Ligue (2020) and 2 Trophées des Champions (2019 and 2020).

The 2021 African Cup of Nations winner returned to Germany on loan to RB Leipzig for the 2022-2023 season. Abdou Diallo played in 15 matches and helped his team win the German Cup.

A former France U-21 captain, he opted to represent the Senegalese national team. Abdou Diallo has 23 caps for the Lions of Teranga and won the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Abdou Diallo : "Out of sight, but close to my heart. I'll always be a Parisian and grateful to have worn this shirt."

Paris Saint-Germain wishes Abdou all the best for the rest of his career.
