PSG Fans Set New Record Shirt Sales Following Historic Champions League
US Sales Surge Following Club World Cup Opener
In the wake of Paris Saint-Germain’s historic UEFA Champions League triumph, the club’s supporters have once again demonstrated their passionate backing, this time by setting a record for home shirt sales.
Fanatics has confirmed that sales of the new Nike home kit on the official PSG online store have exceeded all previous benchmarks, with a 37% increase compared to the 2021/22 season’s launch, the club’s prior best-performing home kit. The latest release has also surpassed PSG’s all-time top-selling kit launch, the 2020/21 Jordan third kit, by 10% in the first week of availability.
Fanatics also reported that following Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League triumph, its online store recorded six of the ten highest sales days in its history. This surge was driven by more than 80 different ‘Champions League Winners’ products, all made available on the official store within just 45 seconds of the final whistle. On the back of its on-field success, groundbreaking partnerships, and product innovation with partners like Nike and its Jordan Brand, PSG has rapidly grown into one of the most talked-about sports brands globally.
The club has also seen a surge in demand for merchandise across the USA, following their opening game at the Club World Cup, played in front of a crowd of 80,000 fans. Fanatics confirmed that on the day of their opening game against Atletico Madrid, US revenue on the online PSG store spiked 744% compared to the previous seven days sales.
“These record-breaking sales are a powerful reflection of Paris Saint-Germain’s global resonance and the deep connection we share with our fans,” said Richard Heaselgrave, Chief Revenue Officer at Paris Saint-Germain, “From Paris to Los Angeles, this momentum underscores the club’s position as a leading force in global sport and culture, driven by on-field success, the creativity of our merchandise strategy, and a bold brand vision.”
Fans attending the games in Los Angeles this week have been heading to PSG House, on Melrose Avenue, where exclusive fashion collaborations with the likes of The Weeknd and LA artist Steven Harrington are also available.
“The demand we’ve seen for PSG products since their Champions League victory has been unprecedented,” said Stephen Dowling, President, International at Fanatics, “The club has effectively transformed its sporting success into a global commercial and cultural phenomenon, driven in part by the rapid launch of exclusive merchandise and the strength of its brand worldwide.”
