Paris Saint-Germain outline their initiatives for fighting against all types of discrimination

Today, Paris Saint-Germain announced that they have signed agreements with long-term partners SOS Racisme, La Licra and Sportitude, reinforcing their commitment to fighting all forms of violence, discrimination and exclusion.

Jean-Claude Blanc, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Paris Saint-Germain, announced: Paris Saint-Germain have worked to fight all forms of violence and discrimination for many years now. The commitment we have made alongside these important national charities is anchored in the Club’s identity and the values it promotes.

Paris Saint-Germain have been working alongside SOS Racisme and La Licra for fifteen years now, and with Sportitude for the last ten years. The success of the pilot schemes put in place, namely in the Parc des Princes, has been applauded and they now provide inspiration for a number of sport’s stakeholders. Our ambition is to continue breaking ground in this field.”

With the recent appointment of an ethics specialist on the Club’s staff, and by stepping up their work with SOS Racisme, La Licra and Sportitude, Paris Saint-Germain are confirming that, right now, they are one of the best-organised and most highly-committed sports clubs in the fight for a fairer society.

Paris Saint-Germain have joined forces with SOS Racisme to roll out large-scale operations to raise public awareness, namely during matches at the Parc des Princes. With La Licra, from July onwards, their staff will be given training with regards to the fight against discrimination, imparted by the charity’s legal experts.

Finally, with Sportitude, the Club will continue fighting all types of violent, sexist or xenophobic behaviour in sports venues, so that sports stadiums have an animated yet respectful atmosphere.

All year round, the Club, through its Foundation and Endowment Fund, reaches out to underprivileged children and brings comfort to sick children. For the last 19 years, Paris Saint-Germain – Children First has helped more than 220,000 people in need. By running a number of educational programmes that use sport and its values – namely fulfilling one’s potential and helping others – as catalysts for learning, Paris Saint-Germain are also committed to improving the welcome given to refugees.
