About Paris Saint-Germain’s academy and pre-academy

Founded in 1970, Paris Saint-Germain is the most decorated club and sports franchise in France and one of the greatest clubs in Europe. Owned by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) since 2011, the club has achieved spectacular results both on and off the pitch. Beyond its men’s football team, Paris Saint-Germain is an avant-garde multisports club with its Esports, judo, women’s football and handball teams as well as its academy and pre-academy, while the club also boasts a large and ever-growing community of over 200 million followers on social media, making it one of the biggest in the world of sport.

Created in 1974, Paris Saint-Germain’s academy is committed to passing knowledge, sporting values and experience onto young footballers. A number of players who have come through Paris Saint-Germain’s academy ranks are now shining as professionals – be it at Paris Saint-Germain or at other big clubs in France and in Europe – and serve as proof of the club’s expertise when it comes to player development.

Benefitting from the exceptional facilities at PSG Campus, the club’s youth coaches work in optimal conditions for enabling youngsters to learn and to establish themselves at Paris Saint-Germain, alongside the professional players.

Having been named as the best of its kind by the French Football Federation in 2019 and 2020, Paris Saint-Germain’s academy has been ranked in the Prestige category and in Class A in recent seasons. As a true centre of excellence, it meets all of the criteria set out by the FFF’s national technical centre and is the centrepiece of the club’s successful player development policy.

The academy’s aim is to develop elite players while also offering them an academic curriculum adapted to their needs. It regularly welcomes promising new talent through its doors, and, thanks to its strong relationship with the other clubs in the Île-de-France region, a number of children aged 13 and upwards join its pre-academy with the aim of moving up to the academy itself at 15, thereby combining their footballing development with their studies.
