The Mantes-la-Jolie Rouge & Bleu school celebrates women's football with Aminata Diallo

Paris Saint-Germain women’s team midfielder Aminata Diallo visited the Rouge & Bleu School in Mantes-la-Jolie this week, on Thursday 4 April.

The player met children who are making the most of the facilities and the teaching provided by the school and the supervision of Paris Saint-Germain - Children First instructors. The visits formed part of a week dedicated to women’s football at the Rouge & Bleu School and to the latest news on the upcoming Women’s World Cup, to be held in France from 7 June to 7 July 2019.

Discussing her visit, Aminata said: “I am honoured and happy to meet children from the Rouge & Bleu School and to come and share my experience with them. It’s essential for me to maintain the connection we have with these youngsters, many of whom are Paris Saint-Germain fans. I'd also like to pay tribute to the teaching provided by the Rouge & Bleu School’s educators, who have done an outstanding job with the children.”

Since opening exactly a year ago, in April 2018, in the district of Val-Fourré, the Mantes-la-Jolie Rouge & Bleu School has seen 320 children aged between seven and 11  half of them girls enjoy an after-school programme designed and implemented by Paris Saint-Germain - Children First. In their belief that sport and its values of hard work, respect and mutual support can all boost the learning process and guide children towards success, the Rouge & Bleu School’s educators offer a different approach to education, one that involves sporting and recreational activities, cultural discoveries, and raising awareness of health, nutrition, disability and the need to be environmentally responsible. The Rouge & Bleu School programme encourages children to believe in themselves, come into their own, and to take pleasure from learning.

Since the first Rouge & Bleu School opened in Paris’s 19th arrondissement in 2016, the Paris Saint-Germain - Children First have provided support for 2,532 children at the two establishments.
