Agueissa Diarra joins Paris Saint-Germain
Paris Saint-Germain are delighted to announce Mali international forward Agueissa Diarra has joined the Club on a two-year deal.
Agueissa Diarra started playing in 2010 in her native country with the Super Lionnes d'Hamdallaye. After 10 seasons there, she signed her first professional contract with Moroccan club CM Laâyoune FF. In her first season, Agueissa Diarra averaged a goal per game in 26 league appearances. She then joined Wydad Casablanca in 2022 and found the net 16 times, the fourth-best tally.
In August 2023, she then moved to SC Casablanca where she won the UNAF Tournament and reached the African Champions League final. With 29 goals, she was the league’s leading scorer in 2023-24 and was named the division’s top forward by the Moroccan Union of Professional Footballers.
On the international stage, Agueissa Diarra came through the junior ranks before playing the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with Mali’s senior team in 2016 and helping them to the semi-finals of the competition in 2018. In 2019, she finished leading scorer of the UFOA-A Tournament with seven goals as Mali finished runners-up to Senegal. Last season, she was named Mali’s Women’s Player of the Year at the Mali Football Awards.
“I’m honoured and proud to sign for Paris Saint-Germain. It’s a very big club, one of the best in the world. I’m looking forward to starting this new adventure with my teammates.”
