Paris Saint-Germain judo, the most represented club at the Paris Grand Slam in 2024
Sixteen judokas from Paris Saint-Germain Judo, including thirteen from the French delegation, will be taking part in the fiftieth Paris Grand Slam from 2nd to 4th February at the Accor Arena.
For the second year running, Paris Saint-Germain Judo will be the most represented club in the Paris Grand Slam. For the first time this year, the competition will take place over three days, from Friday to Sunday, at the Accor Arena in Paris.
On the first day of competition, five Parisians will take to the tatami: Priscilla Gneto and Faiza Mokdar in the -57kg category, Luka Mkheidze in the -60kg category, Messaoud Driss (ALG) and Walide Khyar in the -66kg category.
On the second day of competition, they will be joined by five of their club team-mates with the entries of : Lucy Renshall (GBR) in -63 kg, Marie-Ève Gahié and Margaux Pinot in -70 kg, Arnaud Aregba and Alpha Djalo in -81 kg.
Finally, to round off the weekend, six athletes will close out for the Rouge et Bleu: Audrey Tcheuméo and Lyse Versmisse in the under-78kg category, Romane Dicko in the over-78kg category, Lasha Bekauri (GEO) and Alexis Mathieu in the under-90kg category and finally Teddy Riner in the over-100kg category.
Last season, five athletes from the capital club won medals in the Paris event. In the women's event, Amandine Buchard came third in the -52kg class, with Marie-Ève Gahié taking silver in the -70kg class and Romane Dicko bronze in the +78kg class. On the men's side, Alpha Djalo also finished with bronze in the -81 kg category, while Teddy Riner won the title for the seventh time in his career in the +100 kg category. Priscilla Gneto (-57 kg) and Audrey Tcheuméo (-78 kg), not yet with Paris Saint-Germain at the time, each won the title in their respective categories.
