Florent Urani appointed as coach of Paris Saint-Germain judo
Paris Saint-Germain Judo is pleased to announce the arrival of Florent Urani, 31, as coach.
As a judoka, Florent Urani participated in three national finals at junior level. In 2009, he won the title of French champion before obtaining European silver and world bronze in the -60kg. category.
These performances enabled him to join the international senior circuit (11 medals from 2010 to 2017) and the French team. With the tricolour judogi, the new Les Rouge et Bleu technician competed in the European Games in Baku in 2015. In terms of team results, he finished third at the 2014 European Championships before winning the continental title the following year.
Florent Urani became a coach when his career as a judoka ended in 2019, and led his FLAM 91 protégés to national and international titles - most notably Chloé Devictor, who was crowned world junior champion last October, and Shirine Boukli, European champion in 2020 and a starter at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo.
