Robin Dourte and Edouard Kempf sign their first professional contracts with Paris Saint-Germain Handball
Paris Saint-Germain Handball is happy to announce that Robin Dourte and Edouard Kempf have signed their first professional contracts with the Club. The pivot and the right-winger, both of whom have come up through the Club's youth system, are now linked to the Club through to 2022.
Robin Dourte made his Lidl Starligue and Velux EHF Champions League debuts with Paris Saint-Germain Handball this season. He has now made a total lof 11 league appearances.
A France youth international, the 2.08m pivot was crowned an U19 World Champion in 2019 before winning silver with the U20s last summer.
"I'm be lucky enough to be working alongside some great players, playing for one of the greatest clubs in the world," explained Robin Dourte. "For a youngster like me, this is an excellent opportunity. I will make the most of it to become a better player and I hope to do my part to help the Club win numerous titles."
Edouard Kempf, who has already played 21 Lidl Starligue matches for Paris Saint-Germain Handball's senior team, made an impressive start to his Velux EHF Champions League career in November 2017 with strong performances against giants Veszprem and Kiel.
He also shone with France's youth teams, by winning three international titles in four years and being named as best right-winger in the tournament when the French U19s won the World Cup in 2017.
"I'm very proud today," said Edouard Kempf. "Beginning your professional career at one of the best clubs in the world is a dream for every high-level handball player. I will do all I can to continue to improve and bring titles to the Club. And with such a prestigious squad and coaching staff, all the ingredients are in place to do just that."
"With Robin Dourte and Edouard Kempf signing, the Club now has two promising new players in its senior squad," declared Paris Saint-Germain Managing Director Jean-Claude Blanc. "They are walking in the footsteps of Benoît Kounkoud, Dylan Garain, Adama Keïta et Dylan Nahi - all rising stars in French handball who have graduated from our youth academy. Our work is bearing fruit. In the future, we will continue to hold lofty sporting ambitions while also developing our project for nurturing high-level young talent."
