Paris Saint-Germain Handball claim tenth french league title

Following their victory over HBC Nantes on Friday (35-32), Paris Saint-Germain were crowned champions of France 2022-2023 in Liqui Moly Starligue Round 29. In doing so, the club from the French capital moved into double figures with the tenth league title in club history.

With 26 wins from 29 games and a four-point lead over Montpellier Handball and HBC Nantes, Raul Gonzalez's players have won the tenth league title in the club's history, and their ninth in a row. In doing so, Les Rouge & Bleu improve their own record for consecutive league titles by one.

This is the 21st trophy won by the Club since its takeover by QSI in the summer of 2012: ten French championships, four Coupes de France, three Coupes de la Ligue and four Trophée des Champions.

Luka Karabatic and his team-mates will travel to Aix-en-Provence next Tuesday (20:30) to take on PAUC in the 30th and final round of the league season - before starting their all-important preparations for the EHF Champions League Final4 in Cologne (17 and 18 June 2023).

“Winning this 10th French Championship title is an outstanding achievement for Paris Saint-Germain Handball. Our team has once again shown superb consistency and tremendous team spirit throughout the season.

I would like to pay tribute to everyone involved in such a performance: the players, the staff, the management, the fans and all the employees.

With the determination, passion and professionalism that drive us all, we can be very ambitious for our next challenge: the Champions League Final4.”

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman of Paris Saint-Germain
