Luc Steins extends his contract until 2026

Paris Saint-Germain Handball is pleased to announce the extension of Luc Steins' contract for two more seasons. The centre-back is now linked to the Club until 30 June 2026.

Voted best player of the 2016-2017 Proligue season with Massy, Luc Steins played two years at Tremblay before joining Toulouse in the summer of 2019.

The Dutch international arrived in the capital in November 2020 as a medical joker following Nikola Karabatic's injury and has scored 233 goals in 78 games for the Rouge & Bleu in all competitions since then.

Luc Steins was voted the best player in the Liqui Moly Starligue for the second year in a row and was also included in the all-star team as the best centre-back.

The man from Voerendaal has 77 caps and 214 goals for the Dutch national team.

"I am very happy to continue this beautiful story with Paris Saint-Germain," said Luc Steins. "The past season has been an amazing experience, with the incredible record of 30 victories in 30 matches in the league and the Coupe de France title. Along with my team-mates and the staff, our attention now turns to next season. I am very honoured by the trust placed in me by the Club. I'm looking forward to repaying that faith by performing as well as possible on the court and by winning numerous trophies with the team."

"Extending the contract of one of the best players in the world sends a strong message," said Jean-Claude Blanc, Paris Saint-Germain General Manager. "Luc is unanimously recognised as a playmaker of international calibre. Since he joined our Club, his progression has been simply exceptional, getting the last two French league MVP awards. He has become, over the seasons, an essential part of our team and many clubs would like to have him in their ranks. We are very proud to be able to count on his talent and determination in the years to come."
