Jannick Green signs for Paris Saint-Germain Handball until 2024

Paris Saint-Germain Handball are delighted to announce the arrival of Jannick Green who has signed with the club from July 2022. The Danish goalkeeper has signed for the club for two years.

Jannick Green played for three Danish clubs before leaving his home country in 2014 to join Magdeburg, one of the top teams in the Bundesliga. For the club from central Germany, the international goalkeeper won the German Cup, in 2016 as well as the EHF European League last May, with an impressive total of 17 saves in the final.

With the Denmark national team, the shot-stopper won gold at both the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and then in the World Championships in 2019. Both those titles were won alongside two Parisian players, Mikkel Hansen and Henrik Toft Hansen. And at international level, he’s also won a silver medal at the World Championships in 2013, and in the European Championships in 2014.

“I’m proud to write the next chapter of my career in Paris, said Jannick Green, after signing his contract. To sign for a club of this magnitude is an honour for me. Paris Saint-Germain has been at the very top for a while and is now more than ever one of the best teams in the world. As has been the case for a number of seasons, we will continue to strive for excellence in all the competitions we’ll take part in. It’s a really exciting challenge. I can’t wait to get started and to join up with the squad.”

“The club will be welcoming one of the best goalkeepers in the German League, said Jean-Claude Blanc, the deputy chief executive officer. Since his arrival at Magdeburg seven years ago, Jannick Green has shown the extent of his talent and consistency at the highest level. This season, he also showed that on the European stage, by proving crucial in his team’s EHF European League success. He will be a key part of our squad in the upcoming seasons, and his experience will be crucial in our quest to win more trophies.”
