20 out of 20: best start of the season in the history of the French Championship

Paris Saint-Germain Handball has made the best start to a season in the history of the French Championship thanks to its victory over Istres (39-26) on Tuesday at Coubertin. The Rouge & Bleu have won the first 20 games of their Lidl Starligue season.

Paris Saint-Germain welcomed Istres Provence Handball to the Stade Pierre-de-Coubertin in a delayed match from the 11^th round of games on Tuesday 13 April. Raul Gonzalez's men won (39-26), thus achieving a 20th victory in as many games since the start of the 2020-2021 season.

The previous record was set in the 2011-2012 season with 19 wins in the first 19 matches. 

With ten games remaining, the Rouge et Bleu are currently leading the Lidl Starligue standings, four points ahead of Montpellier who they will host on Saturday at Coubertin in the clash for Matchday 23. Paris is in the running to win a 7^th consecutive national title and thus improve on its record achieved with their 6th straight title in 2019-20.
