TROPHY NUMBER 40 FOR PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN

 

With the victory over Stade Rennais in Saturday’s Trophée des champions final, in Shenzhen (China), Paris Saint-Germain made history by winning for the seventh season in a row this competition founded in 1995 by the French Ligue de Football Professionnel. This new title makes it 40 trophies in Paris Saint-Germain’s 49 years of history, cementing the club’s status as the most successful club in France.

In addition to the 9 Trophées des champions wins (in 12 finals), the trophy cabinet includes a European Cup Winners' Cup, 8 Ligue 1 titles, 12 Coupes de France, 8 Coupes de la Ligue, an Intertoto Cup and one Ligue 2 win.

f these 40 trophies, 22 have been won since 2011, the year that QSI took over Paris Saint-Germain with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi becoming Chairman and CEO of the club. In recent years, the club has even secured three domestic quadruples (2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2017-2018), a feat never seen before in French football or in any of the major European leagues.
