Mauro Icardi loaned to Galatasaray

Mauro Icardi has joined Turkish top-flight club Galatasaray SK on loan.  

Born in Rosario, Argentina, the forward moved to Spain aged nine and started playing at Union Deportiva Vecindario before spending two years at the FC Barcelona youth academy between the ages of 15 and 17.

He then joined Sampdoria in January 2011, playing 33 games (11 goals, 4 assists) before signing for Inter Milan in July 2013. He scored 124 goals and supplied 28 assists in 219 games for the Nerazzurri, finishing as Serie A’s leading scorer in both 2015 and 2018.

The Argentina international joined Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the 2019/20 season, and scored 38 times in 92 appearances. In his three seasons, he won two Ligue 1 titles (2020 & 2022), two Coupes de France (2020 & 2021), a Coupe de la Ligue (2020) and two Trophées des Champions (2020 &2022).
