France U21 international Bradley Barcola joins Paris!
Bradley Barcola has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent transfer from Olympique Lyonnais, with the French striker signing a five-year deal with Les Rouge et Bleu, thereby committing himself to the club until 2028. He will wear number 29.
The Lyon native started out in football at AS Buers Villeurbanne in 2008, before joining Olympique Lyonnais in 2010, aged eight. Be it as a striker or as a winger, Barcola gradually rose through the academy ranks at Lyon and broke into the club’s professional squad in the 2021–2022 season.
The France U21 international made his first-team debut with OL against Sparta Prague in the UEFA Europa League group stage on 4th November 2021, coming into the game as a substitute with eight minutes left to play and distinguishing himself by bagging an assist. Barcola, who is capable of playing across the entire front line, scored his first professional goal against FC Metz in the last 64 of the Coupe de France on 7th January 2023.
The versatile forward became an established starter for Les Gones over the course of the 2022–2023 season, racking up five goals and nine assists in 26 Ligue 1 games. His performances also paved the way for him to join up with France’s U21s, with whom he took part in this summer’s UEFA Under-21 Championship in Georgia and Romania, scoring two goals in four games.
“I’m really happy and proud to be joining such a great club. It’s a club with a lot of ambition, that plays in major competitions and I’m going to give it my all”, said Bradley Barcola.
“We are very pleased to welcome Bradley into the Paris Saint-Germain family. Bradley is such a promising young player with a great passion to play for PSG. We’re delighted to add another great young French talent to our squad”, said Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
