Cher Ndour joins Beşiktaş JK on loan

Midfielder Cher Ndour has joined Beşiktaş JK in Turkey on loan without a purchase option.

Born in Brescia, Italy, in 2004, Cher Ndour first joined his hometown club’s youth academy (2009) and then that of Atalanta (2013) before heading to Portugal in 2020 to sign his first professional contract with Benfica.

The Italian-Senegalese midfielder played for the Portuguese club’s reserve team in Liga Portugal 2, becoming - at 16 years and 279 days – the youngest player to feature in a game for Benfica’s reserve team. He contributed to the club’s UEFA Youth League win in 2022, notably scoring a goal in the final.

On 18 March 2023, Cher Ndour made his first-team debut against Vitoria Guimarães, going on to pick up a Portuguese league title. Two-footed, the powerful 1.90m midfielder is also technically adept.

In July 2023, Cher Ndour was part of the U19 Italy side that won the U19 EURO in Malta, scoring a penalty in four appearances, before joining Paris Saint-Germain. He made his debut in the 4-1 win over Olympique Lyonnais on 3 September, 2023. Aged just 19, he scored his first goal for the Rouge et Bleu in the 9-0 Coupe de France win over US Revel in January 2024.

In the January 2024 transfer window the U21 Italy international moved on loan to SC Braga, making 11 appearances in all competitions, including 2 in the Europa League, scoring one goal. Braga finished the year in 4th place in the Portuguese league.

Paris Saint-Germain would like to wish Cher every success at Beşiktaş JK.
