Paris Saint-Germain sets up for the first time in Russia

This summer will see Paris Saint-Germain open its first academy in Russia, in partnership with the company Academy Rus LLC.

The driving force behind this ambitious project is Denis Maryenko, an experienced business management expert and the owner of two elite football academies in Moscow.

From this September, the Paris Saint-Germain Academy Russia will open its doors two to four times a week for children aged three to 15 at an all-new, state-of-the-art indoor football dome in Moscow. Specially built for the academy, the dome is located in the bustling Luzhniki area, next to the stadium where France won the final of the 2018 World Cup.

This high-quality complex will provide children and parents with a first-class facility for playing football in the best conditions all year round (inside the dome in the winter and on the outdoor pitches in the summer).

With a view to guaranteeing quality training that reflects the Paris Saint-Germain philosophy, the Academy has appointed Michael Gaudriller as its technical director. Having coached youth teams for more than two years at Paris Saint-Germain, Michael will ensure that the club’s methods and values are properly passed on.

He will have at his disposal a team of six assistant coaches and a goalkeeping coach.

From November 2019, the young footballers of Russia will also have the chance to take part in holiday camps in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

“We are delighted to be opening this new academy in Moscow, which marks a new phase in the international development of the club,” said Fabien Allègre, Paris Saint-Germain’s director brand diversification. “The sports complex built by our partner will be one of the best in the country, and the entire project is designed to offer an experience of great quality. We are proud to have the support of experienced partners whose ambition matches the club’s high standards. We have every confidence in the success of this project, which should be rolled out to other cities in the medium term, including St Petersburg.”
