Paris Saint-Germain launches new generation app
The Parisian club has brought out a cutting-edge new app, designed with fans to give them the best digital experience possible
At the heart of a football match is the fans’ experience, and it’s also at the core of what drives Paris Saint-Germain in the digital world. Whether it’s on or off the pitch, the Rouge & Bleu club has developed a strategy of blending content and lifestyle experiences for its global audiences, now numbering 93 million fans around the world.
Russell Stopford, Chief Digital Officer, said: "Three years ago the club's president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, set out a vision of an app that would take the club to the forefront of the industry and would be co-created with the fans, and it took 18 months of creative research and development to bring this to life. The app is fan-based and has been re-built to focus on what fans want, so they can find what they need quickly and easily. It’s a platform to power innovation and new digital experiences over the years to come.”
The design has been completely re-imagined and offers a modern navigation in the social network style. Once it has been installed, the app offers a fun and in-depth personalisation based on the user’s tastes and preferences for whichever PSG team they follow most. Every fan will receive front-page content of their favorite team with a daily content feed and won’t miss a thing due to personalised notifications and the shared calendar feature now allowing users to synchronise the match schedule with their own personal calendar.
The content and features are easily accessible, and the interface has a stylish design and slicker features. Users will be able to access thousands of PSG TV videos (daily news, match summaries, interviews and exclusive reports, l'Instant Laure...), experience club events live such as training sessions, press conferences, pre-match build-up at the Parc des Princes or special programmes, and relive all the first team's matches in full, from midnight post-match via PSG TV Premium.
A new feature of the app is the "single basket" function that will enable group purchases of different types of Paris Saint-Germain products (match tickets, the MyParis loyalty programmes or PSG TV Premium offers, etc.) within a single simple and secure interface, facilitating transactions. In the long term, the ambition and the greatest innovation will be to also integrate the purchases from the online shop.
When fans return to the Parc des Princes they will also be able to access stadium services in a dedicated menu. Over time, Paris Saint-Germain is planning to add new features such as gaming and personalization options alongside other new technologies.
