Paris Saint-Germain launches its TikTok account with the announcement of Abdou Diallo’s signing

Paris Saint-Germain is continuing its digital success story by joining TikTok, the one of a kind short form video platform. To mark the occasion, the Club took to its new account to exclusively announce the signing of the French youth team captain, Abdou Diallo. The announcement was later relayed on all of its social media pages.

Russel Stopford, Chief Digital Officer at Paris Saint-Germain, announced: “Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to inaugurate its new TikTok account by revealing an exclusive and eagerly-awaited piece of news to its fans. The Club is at the forefront of best digital practice and intends to offer ever more innovative and engaging content to its fans. TikTok is hugely popular among the younger generations all over the world. We are excited to grow our community and test out new formats in a bid to break new ground.”

Inigo Rivero Angulo, European Strategy Manager for TikTok, added: “TikTok is one of the most popular video platforms in the world. It aims to encourage talented users to demonstrate their creativity in short videos. We’re delighted to team up with Paris Saint-Germain. The platform will allow the Club to get closer to its creative fans by offering exclusive content, competitions and daily pictures of the players, both on and off the pitch.”

Paris Saint-Germain is now one of the most active sport clubs on social media. The Club has more than 73 million fans worldwide and has one of the highest acquisition and engagement rates in the world.
